Born in Brooklyn, Dr. Miller was raised in and around New York City. After graduating from Franklin & Marshall College (Lancaster, PA) with a B.A. degree, he received his M.D. degree in 1972 from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Miller then completed two post-graduate years in the field of Internal Medicine, his first at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and his next at St. Mary Hospital in Long Beach, CA. Subsequently, Dr. Miller served as Resident and Chief Resident in Dermatology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, completing his residency in 1977 and receiving his certification by the American Board of Dermatology shortly thereafter.
Since 1977, Dr. Miller has been in private practice in the Long Beach and Lakewood areas. He has been on the teaching staff of the Dermatology Department at U.C. Irvine Medical School since the early 1980’s, and has provided teaching electives in his office for students from a number of national and international medical schools. Over the years, Dr. Miller has been called upon by other physicians, as well as by members of the general public, to lecture on various dermatology-related topics. His talks impart the same extraordinary knowledge of medicine and dermatology, combined with kindness and wit, which he shares with his patients. In addition to lecturing, Dr. Miller has been featured for his expertise in Dermatology on radio, in newspapers, and on television.
Dr. Miller has always practiced medicine guided by his awareness of the great privilege and the sobering responsibility involved in caring for each patient.
